About My Work
I am a sculptor and representational painter. My sculptures are figurative, mostly of people and animals,
and I seem to have a special ability to capture the likeness and personality of my subjects.
Just as my training in graphic design was a solid basis when I turned my creative skills to easel painting, this then enabled me to move with ease and enthusiasm when sculpture assumed priority – like a creative virus!
And I learned to see from a different point of view—in 3 dimensiions now!
I’ve sought out professional sculptors whose work I admire, with whom to study throughout the U.S., in France, Canada, and Mexico as well. Their assistance and encouragement have enabled rapid progress in this new (for me!) form of expression.
Fostering an idea or inspiration through the many processes required to produce a finished bronze is challenging, the continual learning process is rewarding, and to see the results-- joyful!
